In the introductory discussion of this new class, I began with a look at Exodus, chapters 32 through 34 – the history of Israel at Mt. Sinai, complete with their idolatry before the Golden Cow. In this section, God reveals Himself to Moses by proclaiming His Name while He hides Moses in the cleft of the rock. Not only is this section a good place to start a study of the subject “What is God?” it is a good place to understand the principle “What God Is NOT.” So I decided, being in the midst of a change of sermon series, to preach from these chapters in a manner so that the Sunday School class and the morning messages are complementary. This Lord’s Day I will begin a short series of messages comparing true and false worship from Israel’s experience with the LORD in Exodus 32 – 34. Most Recent Sermon |
